Our Teams

Bankstown Sports Women’s Cricket Club plays in the Sydney Women’s Premier Cricket competition. We have a team in each grade from First to Third as well as the Under 18 Brewer Shield.

History

Bankstown Sports Women’s Cricket Club was founded in 1972. 

The club won the First Grade Premiership six seasons in a row between 2007/08 and 2012/13 and again in 2014/15 and 2015/16.

 

In 2007/08 and 2008/09 Bankstown Sports were Club Champions in the Sydney Cricket Association Women’s Competition.

 

The club also won premierships in the Combined First & Second Grade T20 Competition in 2017/18, Second Grade (1972/73, 1982/83 and 2014/15); Second Grade T20 in 2019/20; Third Grade (1990/91 and 2017/18); Fourth Grade (1991/92) and Brewer Shield in 1992/93, 1998/99 and 2008/09).

Bankstown has had seven players represent Australia.

Therese McGregor, Michelle Goszko, Olivia Magno, Sharon Millanta, Ashleigh Gardner, Sarah Aley and Erin Burns have all represented Australia.

Bankstown also have a number of players who have participated in the WBBL competition.

Sarah Aley (Sixers WBBL01-06),  Ashleigh Gardner (Sixers), Erin Burns (Hurricanes WBBL01/02, Sixers WBBL03-), Rhiannon Dick (Sixers WBBL01/02, Adelaide Strikers WBBL03), Katie Mack (Melbourne Stars WBBL01-04, Adelaide Strikers WBBL05-), Corinne Hall (Hobart Hurricanes WBBL01-06, Sydney Thunder WBBL07), Maddie Penna (Melbourne Stars WBBL05, Adelaide Strikers WBBL06-) and Angelina Genford (Sixers WBBL08).
